Swedish massage is a relaxing full body massage with long flowing strokes to melt away tension in the muscles. This light massage promotes relaxation, increased circulation, improved flexibility and many other benefits. Swedish massage is recommended for those seeking relaxation and stress relief, those with decreased muscle tone or anyone getting a massage for the first time.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and clients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.
Thai Massage on Table
This technique is a combination of deep tissue massage, yoga, acupressure and reflexology. The techniques used in each session are tailored to the individual and their needs for that day. Assisted yoga improves the clients’ flexibility and muscle tension. Acupressure focuses in on energy points along the body to promote increased relaxation. Reflexology targets nerve endings (i.e. reflex points) on the hands and feet for overall balance of all body systems, in turn, allowing the body to self-heal.
This type of massage is recommended for anyone looking for a full body client/therapist interactive therapeutic session. This massage can, however, be modified with Swedish Massage techniques and lighter yoga.
